WELCOME MESSAGE

Welcome to the Richardson laboratory. In our lab we investigate a number of different issues. Some of us focus on behavioural neuroscience studies in the rat while others of us focus on studies in humans. In the rat studies, our focus is on a developmental and neural analysis of learning and memory, especially of fear.  One particular area of interest in this work has to do with how learned fear can be inhibited. In the human studies, we have two areas of interest. The first has to do with learned fear in humans and the second has to do with the effects of being socially ostracised.  In the human conditioning studies we are interested in learning about how fear is inhibited, and in the ostracism studies we are interested in the emotional and cognitive consequences of being excluded.

Recent publications from the lab are listed in the “Publications” link of this webpage. PDFs are attached for most of these publications. Feel free to contact us if you would like the PDF for any other publication from the lab, or if you have any questions about the research we are doing.

I am the course co-ordinator for PSYC3241 (Psychobiology of Memory and Motivation) and GENS9007 (Psychobiology of Sex, Love, and Attraction).
