International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. First observed in 1911, IWD continues to unite people worldwide in recognising progress, challenging inequality, and advocating for meaningful change.
While IWD is a moment to celebrate, it is also a call to action. It reminds us of the ongoing work required to build a world where everyone — regardless of gender — has equal opportunity to contribute, lead, and thrive. Advancing gender equity is essential not only for individual wellbeing, but for strong institutions, prosperous economies, and a sustainable future.
We are proud to continue to celebrate the extraordinary women working in psychological science at UNSW. As we have done in previous years, we are highlighting the contributions, leadership and impact of women across our School. The profiles featured below showcase just some of the talented researchers, educators and professional staff whose work advances knowledge and improves lives.
We invite you to explore their stories and learn more about the diverse and innovative research being conducted within our community. Click on any image to read about their work.
