Julie is a postdoctoral research fellow working in the area of human learning and attention. Her research focuses on the effects of uncertainty and ambiguity on attentional capture, causal learning and belief formation. She is particularly interested in understanding how informational uncertainty guides our attention, thus shaping what we learn, what we believe in, and what decisions we subsequently make. Her research includes both experimental studies and applied research, with a unifying focus on understanding how we make sense of a complex and variable environment (and why we sometimes get it wrong).
