Anagha Kaluve

Anagha is a second year combined PhD and Master of Clinical Psychology student. Her current research explores the relationship between emotion regulation and premenstrual symptoms, to better understand the mechanisms underlying Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (a clinically significant mood disorder affecting 3-8% of menstruating people). Through her research, Anagha hopes to develop or modify future treatments that can better service those experiencing impairing premenstrual symptoms. Anagha’s work is driven by a passion for women’s health issues and the commitment to improve the representation of women in scientific research. Indeed, her recently published meta-analysis advocates for the use of female rodents in preclinical anxiety disorder research, a field which has been historically dominated by male models of disease despite the greater female prevalence.
